KCSE 2016 RESULTS WILL SABOTAGE THE KENYA ECONOMY

A majority of candidates that sat for the 2016 KCSE exams scored grades D- and E, falling below the threshold for public university placements. Results released by Education CS Fred Matiang'i on Thursday show that 149,929 candidates scored D-, while 33,399 students scored E. Matiang'i said 141 candidates scored As, 4,645 candidates scored A- and 10,975 scored B+. "This is a true reflection of candidates’ result, without manipulation and massaging of the results," the CS said. Matiang'i said all the 88,929 who scored between A and C+ will be absorbed into the universities  Why such a poor performance from our students?Does it mean no standardization of the results was done? If  for instance all students scored below 50% in a certain subject wouldn't some still score A plain? This means grades are not pre-fixed. They are determined at the end of the marking. If that is the case, then  which criteria was used to come up with  only 88,929 students who scored C+

AHMEDNASSIR ON SPEAKER JUSTIN MUTURI

"Never has a Kenyan parliament been led by a more inept, incompetent, dull, unknowledgeable and ignorant Speaker. This is the result you get when greatness is forced on a political dwarf." He shrieks, shrills and hisses when giving orders. His rulings on matters of law and politics from the Chair are superficial and pedestrian. His grasp of law and parliamentary procedure are at best laughable. But it is his partisan and small-minded moderation of parliamentary debates that should alarm Kenyans. Parliament will either shut or suffer mass boycott if Muturi is not replaced as a matter of national priority. He stifles debate. He defines and delimits the tenor and contours of debates. He ignores the Opposition. Parliament is an empty shell!"

THE BURDEN OF A TRIBE

By Serah Kahiu I get shocked every time someone is hostile to me just because I'm a Kikuyu...like WTF I'm I supposed to do about being born as one?! And what's wrong with being proud to be one and to be able to speak and write the language? Makes me wonder if they still would if I got hitched to a Kavirondo brotha and be called Serah Otieno or to a Turkana Oil billionaire (goals) and be called Serah Lakitaung ... Or to a yellow haired, blue eyed odiero and be called Serah Schumacher. Y'all need to get over it and take every individual as they are not as a tribe. I refuse to carry the burden of my tribe... You Don't Have To Steal From The Poor To Rule Them

Renowned constitutional lawyer Philip Murgor recently declared he will run for President in 2017. The 55-year-old lawyer also served as the Director of Public Prosecutions for two years under the Mwai Kibaki regime before he was fired in May 2005.   What is your vision for the country and do you think you will win, bearing in mind that you are new in politics? I stand for a society that has no corruption or impunity, and equality for all regardless of tribe, gender, race, religion or disability. It is my dream that Kenyans feel proud of their own country under my leadership. Kenyans have finally woken up to the reality that tribalism will destroy the country. They must now find a leader that will unite Kenya and I am that leader. Critics say you should have started as an MP or governor before going for the big seat, and that politics in Kenya is not ideology-based. What do you say? I am not interested in politics for its own sake. I have joined politics to provide solutions i

Why Hon. Mpuru Aburi and Mithika Linturi are the Genius in Revenging and Opportunistic Grabbers In Meru Politics

If you follow closely the history of TE Mp Mpuru Aburi you Will realize that he is a genius in politics and applies all tactics to ensure he punishes those Who have once interfered with his ambitions. To start with is worth noting that Mpuru likes doing the opposite of others, Mpuru first won his first seat as a councilor in 1992 in mukinduri area with the little known party in the area Ford-Kenya in the area known for DP. He Lost twice to Peter Munya in 2002 $ 2007 with 130 votes and 80votes respectively where he vied with ODM party, during this time it was alleged that Kiraitu Murungi contributed to his losing since he used to openly campaign for Munya, Mpuru has been having this hatred for long and had to revenge by all means just like he used to do where he has been alleged to have made two chiefs sacked Who used to be threat against his timber selling business before he clinched to his first political post, in this he used to visit the chiefs in their homes without invitatio

HOW TO TRACE A MISSING OR STOLEN PHONE

If you lose your mobile phone, you can trace it without going to the police. Most of us always fear that our phones may be stolen at any time. Each phone carries a unique IMEI no. i.e. International Mobile Equipment Identity No which can be used to track it anywhere in the world. This is how it works: 1. Dial *#06# from your mobile. 2. Your mobile phone shows a unique 15 digit. 3. Note down this number at a secure place except in your mobile phone itself as this is the number which will help trace your phone in case of theft. 4. Once stolen, just E-mail this 15 digit IMEI No. to cop@vsnl.net with details as stated below: Your name:____________________ Address:______________________ Phone model:_________________ Make:_________________________ Last used No.:_________________ E-mail for communication:_____ Missed date:___________________ IMEI No :_______________________ 5.Your Mobile will be traced within next 24 hours via a complex system of GPRS and internet, You will find where your h

ANALOGY OF A TREE

From Tyler Perry I have this tree analogy when I think of people in my life, be it friends, family, acquaintances, employees, co-workers, whomever... They are all placed inside what I call my tree test. It goes like this:   *LEAF PEOPLE* Some people come into your life and they are like leaves on a tree. They are only there for a season. You can't depend on them or count on them because they are weak and only there to give you shade. Like leaves, they are there to take what they need and as soon as it gets cold or a wind blows in your life they are gone. You can't be angry at them, it's just who they are.   *BRANCH PEOPLE* There are some people who come into your life and they are like branches on a tree. They are stronger than leaves, but you have to be careful with them. They will stick around through most seasons, but if you go through a storm or two in your life it's possible that you could lose them. Most times they break away when it's tough. Although t

Hon. Dr. Kilemi Mwiria deeply concerned on the organization of JP activities in Meru

STATEMENT FROM HON. DR.  KILEMI MWIRIA'S SECRETARIAT Subject:  Hon. Dr. Kilemi Mwiria deeply concerned on the organization of JP activities in Meru I belong to Jubilee Party (JP) because it is the party of HE President Uhuru Kenyatta and my aim is to ensure that Uhuru retains the popularity he has continued to enjoy among the Ameru. However,  my supporters and I and indeed supporters of many other aspirants who are in JP, are not happy  with the  way a team of individuals  calling themselves KIKALI are going about the  business of  popularizing the Party. They have been portraying JP as a KIKALI outfit and in the process they have isolated all the other aspirants who are in JP but not in KIKALI.   Of late there has been an exodus of aspirants to PNU and DP who are also gaining popularity in Meru. It is for this reason that I am calling for a round table meeting of all JP aspirants who are as concerned as I am, in order to chart our way forward to avoid a situation where opp

Graduating today? Here are some realities no one will tell you

It is graduation day at my alma mater today. Yes, December, the month of boring nonsense that is graduation ceremonies when no jobs are in sight. Technically, it is kids born in 1992-93 graduating this month, and their sense of reality is misty since they have been pampered to adulthood. But reality is about to rein and rain on them. Listen up, kids. 1. The tax you are about to start paying will be used to pay Adan Duale, Moses Kuria, Johnstone Muthama and Mike Sonko. The rest will be stolen shamelessly by you know who. 2. Use condoms. A 56-pack pamper goes for Sh1,750 at Tuskys and Sh 1,800 at Nakumatt. And kids can’t stop pooping. They diarrhoea half the time, get sick all the time. Without a job or insurance, you will be miserable. Rubber it up, boys. 3. It is better to live in the slum and learn to fend for yourself than to live with a married relative. You will never get along with the wife. Protect your dignity. 4. For men, dating will be impossible if you are broke.

Keep believing in yourself

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren’t the way you had hoped they would be. That’s when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself. There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them. Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are. So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be. Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.

Let go of your stresses

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: ”How heavy is this glass of water?” Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz. She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.” It’s important to remember to let go of
