IF WORKING WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY MAKES ONE A MOLE THEN RAILA IS THE "BIG MOLE"-ABABU NAMWAMBA SAYS

Opposition party ODM secretary-general Ababu Namwamba has accused a section of party members of plotting to remove him from the post. Mr Namwamba on Tuesday dared those eyeing the post to prepare for a tough battle, saying he did not get it on a silver platter. “I earned the seat through hard work. If you think you can take it away, then try it,” said the Budalang’i MP who, however, did not name those keen to kick him out. “We are not visitors in ODM. We are majority shareholders. Don’t think you can treat us as if we are guests. This is our party and we are not going anywhere. We are in ODM to stay.” Mr Namwamba was speaking at Mundere Primary School in his constituency during the official opening of two classrooms, which were funded the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He was accompanied by the Slovakia ambassador to Kenya Michal Mlynar. Mr Namwamba also dismissed politicians who have labelled him "a Jubilee mole." Things that happen when you embrace being alone

We fear being without friends, family, or a partner. We get anxious about traveling alone to strange places, and being lost without anyone to hold our hand. We fear taking on life without a shoulder to lean on, for fear that we’re not strong enough or good enough to stand on our own two feet. This is natural – this resistance to being alone. We’ve all felt it deep down in our own way, though we often try desperately to ignore and deny it. And this is one of the greatest causes of our stress… To avoid being alone we’ll socialize endlessly, online and offline. We’ll date, and even marry, someone who isn’t right for us, just to have someone to cling to – someone to fill up the empty space in our lives. We’ll watch hours of TV, or stuff our faces with junk food, or buy toys we don’t need, because these things are replacements for love… especially self-love. The secret to turning things around? Awareness and acceptance. We have to open our minds to the empowering nature of being alone. We t

Be humble at the mountaintops, be strong in the valleys, and be faithful in between.

Why are we feeling this way – so beaten up and worn down? Why do we, who start out so passionate, courageous, worthy and believing, become utterly bankrupt by the youthful age of 30, 40 or 50? Why is it that one of us drowns in material consumption and debt, another puts a bullet in his head, a third seeks oblivion in hard liquor and gambling, a fourth, in order to stifle fear and judgment, cynically tramples and berates her own individuality, intelligence, and pure, beautiful youth? Why is it that, once fallen, we don’t attempt to rise back up, and, having lost one thing, we don’t attempt to seek another? Why? Because we give up on ourselves too soon. We let that monster named negativity chew us up and spit us out into a deep gutter of self-doubt. If you can relate in any way at all, here are some important reminders to keep in mind… 1. When your marriage, parenting, faith, etc. gets tough, it’s not a sign that you’re doing it wrong. These intimate, intricate aspects of life are tough

CS ANNE WAIGURU IS NOT UNDER INVESTIGATIONS-STATE HOUSE SAYS

State Hose Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu has come out to defend devolution CS saying she is not under any investigations. The devolution ministry where NYS falls is under her but despite the sh800 scandal involving NYS, the CS has put on a brave face, buoyed by both ethnic and government support right from the Presidency. Addressing a Press Conference, Esipisu said it is the CS who first invited CID when she was informed of the scandalous payments. At the same, Treasury cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich has defended IFMIS, the government’s procurement software at the centre of the NYS scam. Mr Rotich assured the Public Accounts Committee on Thursday that the Integrated Financial Management Information Systems (IFMIS) was robust and internationally tested. “We would not have been able to detect the NYS issue (had it not been) for the efficient audit trail generated by Ifmis,” he said.

NYS-YOUTH FOR VIOLENCE COME 2017-ODM SAYS

ODM STATEMENT – NYS YOUTH FOR VIOLENCE 2017 The demonstration yesterday in the streets of Nairobi by a group of hired Kenyans donning NYS t-shirts clearly confirmed our worst fears that the so called ‘rebranded NYS’ is not the NYS that was started in the 1960’s to provide services to the society but a militia aimed at causing tension and anxiety in the country. The demonstration by the members of the supposed to be a disciplined force left a lot to be desired. That was just the tip of the iceberg. It proved to the doubting Thomases that the billions of shillings allocated to the Devolution and Planning Ministry are spent on empowering the so-called NYS youths for reasons only known to Jubilee government. Yesterday we saw it with our own eyes. We have asked and we demand again, for a full audit of NYS and Devolution Ministry’s expenditure (including confidential budgets), curriculum, ethnic and gender composition and all contracts entered into by the organization. The Auditor General mu

Mastering The Monster Inside Your Head

The monster has been called a lot of names: “the imposter syndrome,” “the lizard brain,” “the inner fraud.” It’s that voice inside your head undermining everything you do. You’re not good enough…You just got really lucky…There are people far better and more qualified than you… It’s been definedas, “feelings of inadequacy that persist even in face of information that indicates that the opposite is true. It is experienced internally as chronic self-doubt, and feelings of intellectual fraudulence.” There are a number of reasons why the negative voice exists: *.Maintaining the comfort zone. Self-critical thinking steers you away from the unknown and frightening tasks (even though you know growth comes from being stretched and stepping outside your comfort zone). It’s a safety mechanism with good intentions, but unproductive effects. *.Inherited behavior. Those who grew up with highly critical parents unknowingly mirror and internalize the negative talk they received. *.A warped coping mecha

Being with no one is better than being with wrong ones

“Being with no one is better than being with the wrong ones. Sometimes those who fly solo have the strongest wings.” Being solo is a time to find yourself, reflect on the past, get to know who you are and what you deserve, and realise you don’t have to settle for second best…BUT NEVER SLAM THE DOOR SHUT…. single mother 16yrs….and that means VERY SINGLE BY CHOICE….no boyfriends , I chose to raise my five kids and when the time is right the door will be opened again…heartache prepares and teaches you discernment for the real thing when it does come along…being single for five minutes only leads you to more heartache because you will make the same mistakes again by jumping in the pool too soon. WISDOM IS LEARNING FROM YOUR MISTAKES AND NOT REPEATING THEM. ~ Joanne Mbrace Solo for me… Loving it and It gives me time to focus on just me. Been hurt enough, this is my time to heal spiritual, emotional and find my innerself of the person Im hoping for. I have to much caring for people Im at a t

Missing Rib

A very young lady who was in love asked her fiancee. Girl: Tell me. Who, in this world do you love most? Boy: You’re the one I love, of course! Girl: Deep down In your heart, what do you think I am to you? The boy thought deeply for a minute and looked straight into the girl’s eyes and said, “You are my missing rib. It was recorded that God saw that Adam was alone, during one of his sleeps, God took one of Adam’s rib and from it, created Eve and ever since, every man has been searching for his missing rib. I’m grateful to God because I’ve found you.” A few months later, they got wedded. After their wedding, the couple had a sweet and happy married life for a while. But unfortunately, on the long run, the youthful couple began to drift apart due to the busy schedules of life and the never- ending worries of daily problems, their life became mundane. As all these challenges posed by the harsh realities of life began to fade away their dreams and love for each other. Soon, the couple bega

Types of friends worth fighting for

1. Friends who make time for each other. There are countless intricacies to every great friendship, but the foundation is always incredibly simple: making time for each other. The key is to hang in, stay connected, fight for them, and let them fight for you. Don’t walk away when the going gets a little tough, don’t be distracted too easily, don’t be too busy or tired, and don’t take them for granted. Friends are part of the glue that holds life and happiness together. It’s powerful stuff! So put down the smart phone, close the laptop and enjoy each other’s company, face to face, the old fashioned way. There are few joys that equal a good conversation, a genuine laugh, a long walk, a friendly dance, or a big hug shared by two people who care about each other. Sometimes the most ordinary things can be made extraordinary simply by doing them with the right people. You know this! Choose to be around these people, and choose to make the most of your time together. 2. Friends who are willing

DPP KERIAKO TOBIKO MAY BE SHOWN THE DOOR SOON

Recent events and pronouncements by politicians, more so from the Jubilee Coalition, point to a well orchestrated move to shove Tobiko out of office. This is the same script that was used to remove Matemu from the Ethics and Anti corruption Commission (EACC). The only difference is the hunted. The hunters are the same - and as to who they are, ask Irene Keino and Dr. Rachel Onsongo. And so, what's the problem or objective of this well objective. First, and this is a great sin, Tobiko has lived to his promise during his vetting to be independent and non partisan on discharging his duties as the Public Prosecutor. That means that some big fishes are unlikely to have him do their bidding. Is you don't believe this, ask Engineer Kamau. During his late mother's funeral, Dr Kamau gave a hint on the source of his woes. Second, Tobiko is accused of not taking instructions from EACC to prosecute or acquit. He has pointed to the shoddy job by both EACC and the Directorate of Criminal

Things to Remember When Fear is Holding You Back

1. Overthinking everything accomplishes nothing. Yes, fear lets us fall prey to paralysis by analysis. When we allow fear to permeate our excitement it stops us dead in our tracks. We become paralyzed by the mere thought of pushing past and making our way toward a more positive emotion. We become stuck in the cycle of what if _ _? … conjuring mental images of various worst-case scenarios. Our brain, riddled with fear, ceases to acknowledge past successes and becomes wholly focused on the perceived terror of the experience to come. Unease and uncertainty paralyze us, and we become stuck in a downward cycle. The solution? Stop thinking and start doing… Don’t fear change. Change fear. Step by step. 2. You are not physically broken, even though fear makes you feel that way. Once upon a time the physical manifestations of fear worked in our favor: The fight or flight response, the flood of adrenaline in our system, and the sense of our body on “high alert.” These physical sensations saved u

Pay Raila and Kalonzo their Pension NKT

By Donald Kipkorir via Facebook H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta, CGH, CiCDF, in paying Rt Hon. Prime Minister Raila Odinga and H.E Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka their retirement benefits, you have nothing to lose but gaining the goodwill of friends and foe. Whoever is telling you not to assent to the Bill till the duo “resign” from politics may not be advising you correctly. Our Constitution is the supreme law and outlaws all forms of discrimination and degrading treatment. When teachers, doctors, engineers et al reach 60, they begin earning their retirement benefits without foregoing their careers. Messrs. Raila and Kalonzo have not done anything else besides politics since their late teens …. They only know politics. To tell them to retire from politics is like asking them to deny self, to abjure their calling, to turn their back on their supporters. Without politics, the duo cease to have meaning in life. No politician retires unless they are incapacitated or die. Walk the high road,

New architecture of ODM party

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is the father of Devolution in Kenya. Accordingly, we must support it in word and deed, in spirit and action. To ensure this is effective and felt by our members, supporters and the general public, the ODM has completed the process of restructuring so that our party’s architecture conforms to and reinforces the principle of subsidiarity upon which devolution is founded. Consequently, we shall have the National Party whose highest decision-makingorgan is the National Delegates Convention (NDC). The second tier will be the County Party whose highest decision making organ shall be the County Delegates Conference. To entrench the principle of subsidiarity, the ODM’s basic unit shall be the Polling Station where members shall elect the Polling Station Steering Committee (PSSC). Above the Polling Station, there shall be the Sub-Branch at the Ward Level which will be managed and coordinated by the Sub-Branch Executive Committee (SBEC). The ODM Branch, mana

Why are terrosrist rining roughshod over Kenya while Ethiopia, with a longer border with war-torn Somalia, is not troubled?

Ethiopian Ambassador to Kenya Dina Mufti spoke to Mwaura Samora on how they have outmaneuvered terrorists, Uhuru’s presidential jet saga and why the late President Meles Zenawi died without owning a car or a house Were you summoned by Kenyan officials after it was alleged that Ethiopia was the reason President Uhuru Kenyatta’s jet was re-routed on its way to Dubai? There was no summons from anybody. I just got communication from the host nation, which is normal in diplomatic circles. So there were no summons. Did Ethiopia actually stop the presidential jet? I will not comment on that. Ethiopia seems to have managed to scare Al-shabaab despite sharing a longer common border. What are you doing right that Kenya is not?No country can say that they have successfully combated terrorism, whether in Africa or the West. But Ethiopia has been relatively successful because of the good co-operation that exists between security organs and the people. This ensures the population provides vital info

How to spot an egocentric leader

When there is any press coverage or rewards or recognition, only the leader and/or his inner circle are featured or rewarded. They seldom say Thank You or express Gratitude. In a more conscious leadership culture, those who deserve the recognition and rewards get them. Those who are hidden and quiet are raised to the awareness of higher leadership and the public. Diversity of opinion and thought is encouraged as a means of betterment. All voices are welcomed, featured and considered. 2.They say one thing and then they don’t do it. They say they want help but don’t let anyone help them. They say that something will get done and it doesn’t and there is no reason or follow-up. In fact, when you ask them about it, they become defensive and attack your behaviour and character instead. They always make the other person the problem – never themselves. They play the game of Us and Them. They never tell you in your face; they besmirch your name behind your back. In a more conscious leadership c

What transpired in Kenya 2007 general elections

By Jack Tumwa On 26th December 2007, l left Kenyatta International Conference Centre at about midnight.l had just held a final technical committee meeting with the departmental heads during which we reviewed and ran through a checklist containing the final arrangements for the General elections, the voting of which was due on the following day. Reports received from our Returning Officers all over the country clearly showed that all was in order and ready for the voting the next day. This assurance gave us confidence that all was set. My colleagues and i confidently looked forward to the real test of our efforts planned to take place on the following days. I hardly slept on that night, as i anxiously waited for the morning. I prayed and looked forward to a credible, free and fair elections to run according to our plans. The last steering committee meeting had confirmed that all logistical arrangements were in place. These included election materials, the personnel who included our offi
